Overview
Ditech Networks’ corporate quality programs underscore our dedication to quality management, customer satisfaction, and environmental responsibility. With nine years of ISO 9001 certification, the recent addition of 14001 certification, and adherence to the Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, Ditech is prepared to continuously support its customers and meet its growth opportunities.
ISO Certifications
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a voluntary, non-treaty organization responsible for creating international standards on a broad range of topics. ISO 9001 establishes a core of strict quality-system standards for industry and organizations. Ditech first received ISO 9001 Certification in April 1997, and has maintained its ISO registration through successful semi-annual audits. ISO 14001 addresses the environmental impact of business activities. Ditech has been ISO 14001 certified since 2004.
Ditech Networks’ technological excellence, solid track record of top quality manufacturing, and outstanding 7 x 24 customer support meet the strict compliance standards set by ISO. For detailed information regarding Ditech’s ISO compliance, refer to the following documents:

- Quality and Environmental Management Policy

Environmental Management Programs
Ditech formalized its commitment to responsible environmental management with ISO 14001 certification in 2004. The initial programs focused on reducing the use of consumable items and implementing targeted recycling programs. Since then, Ditech has expanded its efforts by:
- Establishing “e-waste” recycling events for employees twice a year
- Migrating key processes to electronic systems to minimize paper consumption
- Leveraging the Environmental Management System (EMS) program and supply chain partners to focus on the European Union (EU) market requirements of the Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directives
Since 2004, Ditech’s efforts have eliminated 16,374 pounds of e-waste, 42,003 pounds of scrap and precious metals, and 53,994 pounds of recyclable paper from local landfills.
EU Directives
The EU Directive on RoHS is part of an ever-increasing push for more environmentally sound manufacturing policies across industries. RoHS was launched almost concurrently with the WEEE Directive, which aims to raise the level of recycling of electrical and electronic equipment, and encourage designers to create products with recycling in mind. Although there is little federal legislation similar to RoHS or WEEE currently in the United States, the state of California has announced legislation mirroring the EU Directives, with implementation targeted for 2007.
Reduction of Hazardous Substances
As part of Ditech Networks’ 14001-certified management system and overall commitment to the environment, Ditech has already begun implementing RoHS Directive requirements. Based on independent industry benchmarking and guidance offered by the UK’s Department of Trade and Industry, Ditech believes that its products qualify for the lead-in-solder exemption of the RoHS Directive. Ditech is pursuing what is commonly called “5 of 6” compliance for the July 2006 implementation deadline.

Recycling of Electronic Equipment
In addition to the designed-in recyclability of products, a key goal of the WEEE Directive is to make electrical and electronic equipment manufacturers and importers responsible for the collection, treatment, and recovery costs of WEEE. Ditech supports EU efforts to reduce waste from electrical and electronic equipment, and as of January 1, 2006, all Ditech products are marked with the WEEE logo.
